01 Project Brief

Global Standard, Local Conditions

Tissot’s global retail guidelines establish how the Swiss watch brand should present across markets, from its material and fixture language to key customer experience zones. The Grand Indonesia store needed to meet those standards within a compact 31 sqm tenancy, where the global concept could not simply be scaled down proportionally.

The challenge was therefore one of adaptation and documentation. Greater Group needed to understand which elements of the global standard were essential to the brand, then resolve them against the dimensions, services and fit-out requirements of the local site. The objective was to maintain Tissot’s global retail identity while producing documentation precise enough for approval and local construction.

02 Our Approach

Translate the Standard Into Buildable Documentation

Greater Group reviewed the global concept against the physical conditions of the tenancy, adapting the design rather than simply reducing it. Key elements including the storefront, display cases, lighting and dedicated customer zones were resolved within the available footprint, with the Safe Display, Historic Corner, Sports Corner and Celebrating Table integrated into the adapted store.

The design documentation then became the bridge between the global standard and local delivery. Greater Group translated the concept into detailed drawings that captured the required dimensions, finishes, fixtures and interfaces, giving Tissot a clear package for brand approval and the local contractor a buildable reference for execution. This allowed necessary site adaptations to be made without allowing the global design intent to drift.

03 Project Outcome

Global Consistency Through Local Documentation

The completed documentation translated Tissot’s global retail standard into a solution specific to its 31 sqm Grand Indonesia tenancy. The store retains the brand’s key retail elements and customer experience within a footprint that required the original concept to be carefully adapted rather than simply replicated.

More importantly, the project demonstrates the role documentation plays in protecting a global brand as it enters different sites and markets. By resolving local constraints within the drawings, Greater Group created a clear link between global design intent and local execution, allowing Tissot’s established retail standard to be delivered accurately within the realities of an Indonesian tenancy.
