Urban Microbrewery Design at Melbourne Olympic Park
Tablefive, Greater Group’s hospitality division, reimagined St Andrews Beach Brewery’s second venue at Melbourne Olympic Park, translating the Fingal identity into an inner-city format for major events. The brewery interior design concept balances rural warmth and urban polish, creating an adaptable venue fit-out.
Coastal Identity in the City
The brief required translating SABB’s Fingal brewery identity into the high-energy setting of Melbourne Olympic Park. The design needed to retain recognisable rural cues and material character, while adapting to an urban context capable of handling major event crowds. Flexibility, operational efficiency and scalability were essential, ensuring the venue could perform as both a brewery destination and a dynamic event space.
Designing for High Traffic Use
A two-part statement bar was used to anchor the venue, with rammed earth fronts and a halo-lit stainless steel top linking coastal warmth to urban refinement. A glass-enclosed microbrewery was added as a live feature, and an open, immersive plan was maintained. Durable finishes and consistent detailing were applied across furniture, lighting, signage, greenery, and upholstery to reinforce identity and support high-traffic use.
From Fingal To Olympic Park
St Andrews Beach Brewery at Melbourne Olympic Park successfully reinterprets Fingal’s rustic authenticity within a contemporary metropolitan environment. Carefully curated materials, adaptable branding elements and a strategically planned layout enable seamless transitions between everyday trade and large-scale event activation. Key design references to the original brewery create immediate brand recognition while positioning the venue confidently within Melbourne’s urban landscape.
