Shaping the Members’ Experience at the MCG

Greater Group, through our specialist hospitality division TableFive, works with Delaware North and the Melbourne Cricket Club across an ongoing programme of hospitality environments within the MCG. The portfolio spans members’ bars, dining rooms, cafés and function spaces, including the Ponsford Atrium Bar, Olympic Atrium Bar, AFL Dining Room, Tom Wills Room and MCC Committee Room by Guy Grossi.

The programme ranges from the refurbishment of established dining and function rooms to the conversion of underused areas of the stadium into new hospitality venues. Across these spaces, Greater Group considers the practical demands of event-day service, including bar capacity, food service, queueing, staff and guest circulation, dining layouts and the concentrated periods of demand before events and during breaks.

Projects also need to perform beyond match day. Dining rooms and bars are planned to accommodate corporate events, private functions and different seating configurations, extending their use across the MCG calendar. Furniture, lighting, finishes and bespoke elements give each venue its own identity within the wider stadium.

Greater Group’s involvement spans concept design, spatial planning and detailed documentation through to FF&E specification, procurement and selected build scopes. The ongoing programme brings detailed knowledge of the MCG’s existing architecture and operations to each project, supporting the continued evolution of the Club’s hospitality environments.
