Airport Retail Enterprise

Greater Group has worked with Airport Retail Enterprise to develop food and beverage concepts for Canberra Airport, including City Hill Coffee and Noodles XO. Designed as two very different responses to the airport customer, both projects were awarded Silver at the 2020 Melbourne Design Awards in the same hospitality category.

The two venues demonstrate the range required within airport hospitality. City Hill Coffee is a compact, convenience-led format designed around quick service and a clear local identity, while Noodles XO is a sit-down Asian-fusion restaurant built around a longer dining experience. Although located within the same terminal, each required its own brand, customer journey and operational response rather than a common design formula.

Greater Group provided concept design and detailed documentation across both projects, developing each idea into a resolved hospitality environment ready for local delivery. The result is two distinct concepts within one airport, each designed around a different moment in the passenger journey and each recognised independently for its design.
