Bringing Qeelin’s Chinese Heritage Into the Workplace
Greater Group delivered full design and build for a 353 sqm office expansion for Qeelin in Hong Kong. The workplace reflects a philosophy of balance and harmony through a modern, collaborative layout and culturally grounded details, creating a productive environment with subtle Chinese connotations.
Heritage in a Contemporary Workplace
Qeelin is a Chinese fine jewellery house whose identity is deeply rooted in Chinese culture, symbolism and craftsmanship. Its Hong Kong workplace needed to carry that heritage into the environment where the brand’s people work every day, while remaining contemporary and functional.
The challenge was not simply to add cultural references to a modern office. It was to create a workplace that felt contemporary and functional, while remaining grounded in the Chinese heritage, symbolism and craftsmanship at the heart of Qeelin.
Expressing Heritage Through Design
Greater Group designed and built the workplace with cultural references integrated into the architecture rather than applied as decoration. Materiality, proportion, form and detailing draw from Qeelin’s heritage and the craftsmanship of its jewellery, allowing the brand story to emerge subtly throughout the space. The workplace itself remains functional and contemporary, with the cultural elements providing a connection between the environment and the identity of the brand.
A Contemporary Expression of Heritage
The completed Hong Kong workplace brings Qeelin’s Chinese heritage into a contemporary working environment, extending the brand’s identity beyond its jewellery and retail spaces. Rather than reproducing traditional references literally, the design interprets them through materials, forms and details, creating a modern workplace that remains grounded in the culture and craftsmanship that have shaped Qeelin.
