Nicomatic

Nicomatic’s Singapore facility needed to accommodate two very different environments: a working electronics manufacturing operation and the office that supports it. Rather than treating them as separate spaces, the opportunity was to create a workplace where both felt part of the same company and culture.

Within a 409 sqm footprint, the design also needed to balance an open, collaborative workplace with enclosed settings for meetings and private conversations, while bringing Nicomatic’s identity into the environment in a way that went beyond conventional office branding.

Greater Group used a Nordic-inspired material language of white, light timber and a restrained monochromatic palette to bring warmth and clarity to the workplace, with Nicomatic’s corporate blue used selectively to define key areas.

The office was kept open and spacious, with high ceilings, greenery and natural materiality creating contrast with the more technical manufacturing environment. Enclosed meeting spaces provide privacy without fragmenting the wider floor, allowing collaboration and focused conversations to coexist within the same plan.

The strongest brand gesture sits within the factory itself. A nine-metre-high Nicomatic “N”, recorded as the largest across Nicomatic’s global offices, turns the manufacturing space into one of the defining visual moments of the entire workplace.

The completed facility does not hide manufacturing behind the workplace. It makes it part of the identity of the office. The Nordic-inspired workplace provides a warmer environment for Nicomatic’s Singapore team, while the manufacturing area carries the project’s largest expression of the brand. Together, the two environments create a single 4,400 sq ft facility that reflects both sides of Nicomatic: the people behind the business and the engineering at its core.
