Balancing Trust and Technology in Hex Trust's Hong Kong Office
Greater Group delivered a workplace design and build for Hex Trust in Hong Kong’s CBD. The minimalist concept uses flexible zones, strong daylight, and subtle brand cues to support focused work, collaboration, and a polished client experience resulting in a calm, future-ready workplace built to scale seamlessly.
Professional, Without Feeling Conventional
Hex Trust operates between two worlds: the institutional rigour of financial services and the pace of digital assets. Its Hong Kong headquarters needed to communicate the credibility expected of a custodian serving financial institutions while still reflecting the younger, technology-led culture of the business.
The challenge was to create a workplace that could reassure the clients visiting it and energise the team working in it, without defaulting to either a conventional financial office or a stereotypical tech workplace.
Balancing Openness and Privacy
Greater Group designed and built the office, planning the workplace around its strongest existing asset: floor-to-ceiling views across the Tai Kwun Arts and Heritage Centre. The interior was deliberately restrained, using open ceilings, glazing and natural light to keep the workplace connected to its surroundings rather than competing with them.
Brand expression is similarly subtle. Hexagonal geometry drawn from the Hex Trust identity appears in key architectural details, while timber, greenery and leather introduce warmth against the more technical material language. Within the open plan, steel-framed shelving creates privacy without closing the floor off. A mix of workstations, collaborative settings, breakout areas, conference facilities and private meeting spaces gives the team different ways to work without fragmenting the workplace.
A Workplace That Reflects the Business
The completed office gives Hex Trust a physical expression of the balance at the heart of its business: institutional credibility without conventional corporate formality, and technology-led energy without the clichés of a start-up workplace.
Open collaboration, focused work and private client conversations coexist within one environment, while the restrained design keeps the workplace warm, professional and connected to its Hong Kong setting.
For a business bridging traditional finance and digital assets, the result is a workplace that does the same, bringing trust, technology and a younger way of working into one coherent space.
