01 Project Brief

Renewing Three Established MCG Function Rooms

Through TableFive, Greater Group’s specialist hospitality division, Greater Group worked across three established function spaces within the MCG: the Jack Ryder Room, Keith Miller Room and Lindsay Hassett Room. Each serves a different mix of event-day hospitality, corporate functions and private events, with its location, outlook and configuration informing the guest experience.

The programme focused on creating contemporary function spaces designed around how guests arrive, gather, dine and spend time at the MCG. Operational planning, service requirements and flexibility formed part of the design from the outset, supporting the varied demands of the stadium’s year-round events calendar.

02 Our Approach

Design Around the Hospitality Experience

Greater Group developed an individual response for each room, bringing together spatial planning, service areas, furniture, lighting and finishes. The design considers the complete hospitality journey, from arrival and circulation through to dining, service and gathering, giving each room a clear purpose and identity within the MCG.

The Jack Ryder Room uses its arena outlook and flexible configuration to accommodate different event formats, including the ability to divide into three smaller spaces. The Keith Miller Room is shaped as a premium cocktail and dining setting overlooking the MCG turf. The Lindsay Hassett Room draws the stadium into the interior through its direct arena outlook, with Greater Group’s involvement extending through concept design, detailed documentation, FF&E procurement and build.

03 Project Outcome

A Contemporary Hospitality Experience at the MCG

The Jack Ryder, Keith Miller and Lindsay Hassett Rooms form a collection of contemporary hospitality environments with individual identities shaped by their location, outlook and purpose. Flexible configurations support changing event formats and group sizes, with considered service areas, furniture and finishes creating a more resolved experience throughout the stadium calendar.

The function rooms form part of Greater Group’s broader programme at the MCG, spanning bars, dining rooms, cafés, suites and fast-service environments. Together, these spaces expand the ways guests can meet, dine, celebrate and experience an event within the stadium.
