01 Project Brief

Shaping the Store Around T3

Sydney T3 was developed alongside the T2 flagship as part of a single Heinemann programme across Sydney Airport’s domestic terminals. Greater Group developed a shared design language across both locations, with each store planned around the specific conditions of its terminal.

At T3, the passenger journey became central to the design. The store needed to respond to how travellers approach from the concourse, what they see as they move through the terminal and the limited time available to understand and navigate a multi-category retail offer.

02 Our Approach

Design From the Passenger Journey

Greater Group used T3’s passenger flow, entry points and sightlines to shape the store plan. Key categories and retail moments are positioned to register along the natural path of travel, with circulation creating an intuitive journey through the wider offer.

The architectural language developed across the Sydney programme carries through the store in its sculptural forms, integrated lighting, materials and fixture family. Greater Group developed the concept through detailed documentation and remained the design point of contact during construction, coordinating services, clarifying details and helping ensure the approved design was accurately translated into the finished environment.

03 Project Outcome

A Retail Experience Shaped for T3

The completed store gives Heinemann a retail environment designed around the particular movement and sightlines of Terminal 3. Clear visibility, intuitive circulation and a strong architectural identity allow the store to engage passengers as part of their natural journey through the terminal.

Together with T2, the project forms a cohesive Heinemann programme across Sydney Airport’s domestic terminals, with T3 demonstrating how the shared design language can be configured around the passenger experience of an individual terminal.
