01
01 Project Brief

Designing for Two Different Categories

At Lisboeta Macau, Greater Group worked with Heinemann across two separate duty-free environments: Beauty & Fragrance and Confectionery. Each category brings its own customer behaviours, merchandising requirements and operational demands, requiring an experience designed specifically around the way its products are discovered and purchased.

Beauty & Fragrance is shaped by individual brand identities, detailed fixture standards and a more considered process of discovery and consultation. Confectionery is driven by visibility, accessibility, product volume and impulse purchasing. The project called for both environments to be resolved as distinct retail experiences within the wider Lisboeta destination.

02 Our Approach

Design Around the Category

Greater Group developed each store around the requirements of its category. Within Beauty & Fragrance, planning and circulation organise multiple brands into a clear customer journey, coordinating individual fixture, lighting and presentation standards within the wider environment.

The Confectionery store places product visibility and ease of navigation at the centre of the experience, using merchandising density, sightlines and circulation to make the breadth of the offer immediately accessible. Greater Group carried both projects through design and build, coordinating the architectural, merchandising and operational requirements of each environment through a single programme.

03 Project Outcome

Two Stores Designed for How People Shop

Lisboeta delivers two purpose-built travel retail environments, each shaped around its category and the way customers engage with it. Beauty & Fragrance creates a more considered journey through multiple brands, while Confectionery supports faster discovery and high-volume purchasing through clear, accessible merchandising.

Together, the two stores demonstrate the breadth of the Lisboeta programme, with Greater Group applying the same depth of design and delivery thinking to two fundamentally different travel retail categories.
