Waterway Point: The Concept, Applied Not Reinvented

Project Délifrance Waterway Point

Scope Design Development and Brand Identity Refresh
01
01 Project Brief

From New Concept to Established Standard

By the time Délifrance opened at Waterway Point in 2023, the refreshed retail identity had already been established across earlier locations. The challenge was no longer to define the concept, but to demonstrate that it could be consistently applied to a new tenancy without reopening the design each time.

For a growing network, that consistency is critical. Every location brings different spatial conditions, but allowing each constraint to become an exception eventually dilutes the concept. Waterway Point needed to adapt to its site while preserving the identity and customer experience already established across the network.

02
02 Our Approach

Adapt the Site, Preserve the Standard

Greater Group applied the established retail language to Waterway Point, retaining the core brand, planning and design principles while adapting the format to the specific tenancy.

Rather than redesigning the concept, the focus was on disciplined implementation. Detailed documentation translated the established standard into a clear execution package, enabling the local delivery team to build accurately without Greater Group being present on site. The tenancy could change; the principles behind the experience remained consistent.

03 Project Outcome

Proving the Standard Could Hold

Waterway Point demonstrates the maturity of the Délifrance retail concept: an established design language that can move from one location to the next without being reinvented or diluted.

Delivered through a design-only engagement, the outlet shows that consistency can be maintained through a strong design and documentation framework, giving Délifrance a repeatable model that can continue adapting to new locations while remaining recognisably one brand.
