LSKD Highpoint, Victoria

Highpoint marked LSKD’s first Australian store, bringing a retail format developed and proven in New Zealand into a new market. While the design, fixture system and planning principles were already established, the supply chain behind them was not. Joinery and components specified for New Zealand could not simply be transferred into Australian production at the cost required for an ongoing rollout.

The challenge was to localise the system for Australian manufacture without changing the customer-facing experience, preserving the design while creating a commercially viable platform for expansion.

Greater Group re-engineered the existing fixture and joinery package for Australian manufacture, working item by item to retain the proportions, finishes and design intent of the original concept while adapting its construction to locally available materials, components and fabrication methods.

With design, procurement and manufacturing held within the same team, these changes could be resolved behind the scenes without reopening the approved concept. The result was an Australian production package designed to deliver the same LSKD experience through a more efficient local supply chain.

Highpoint proved that LSKD’s retail system could travel without becoming more complex or expensive in the process. To the customer, the experience remained consistent; behind it, the store had been re-engineered around an Australian manufacturing and procurement model.

More importantly, Highpoint established the local production standard for the stores that followed, giving LSKD a proven, repeatable platform for continued expansion across Australia.
