01 Project Brief

Build the Reference Restaurant

Paragon was intended to be the fullest expression of the new Chen’s 2.0 concept. Located on Orchard Road, it needed to establish what the refreshed brand should feel like at its most complete, while still working as a highly functional restaurant within a busy mall environment.

The challenge was to resolve more than the interior language. Seating mix, service sequence, kitchen relationship, customer flow and shopfront all needed to work together before the concept could become a reliable reference for future locations.

02 Our Approach

Resolve the Concept in Detail

Greater Group led the design, detailed documentation and project management, developing the restaurant through an extended design process rather than treating it as a quick tenancy fitout. The shopfront and menu presentation were given particular attention because, in a mall environment, they form the first and often most important interaction with the restaurant.

At the same time, the project was documented with the wider network in mind. Key spatial moves, material details, brand elements and operational relationships were resolved carefully enough that they could later be translated into other sites without being reinterpreted from scratch.

03 Project Outcome

The Benchmark for the Rollout

Paragon became both the flagship expression of Chen’s 2.0 and the benchmark for the wider Singapore rollout. It established the clearest version of the restaurant experience, from how the brand presents at the shopfront to how the dining room and operational spaces work together.

Its value extends beyond the site itself. By resolving the concept and the documentation together, Greater Group gave OUE Restaurants a flagship that could also function as the design reference for the next generation of Chen’s locations.
