01 Project Brief

Turn an Operational Workshop Into a Customer Experience

Brompton required a dedicated workshop at Funan Mall to support everything from basic tune-ups to more complex repairs, with customers able to visit through both walk-ins and scheduled appointments. At just 28 sqm, the space had to accommodate tools, parts, storage, active repairs and specialist consultations within a highly compact footprint.

Despite being fundamentally operational, Brompton did not want the workshop to feel like a hidden back-of-house service area. It needed to remain part of the wider brand experience, giving customers a place to speak with specialists, understand their bikes and stay connected to the Brompton community beyond the initial purchase.

02
02 Our Approach

Design the Function Into the Brand

Greater Group treated the workshop as a customer-facing environment first, while making sure the technical operation could still work efficiently behind it. Tools, storage, genuine Brompton parts and repair functions were carefully organised within the compact footprint, while the material language, graphics and detailing connected the space visually to the flagship nearby.

Rather than disguising the workshop activity, the design gives it structure and purpose. Customers can engage directly with specialists, receive personalised advice and see servicing as part of the Brompton experience itself. The result is a technical space that still feels considered, welcoming and consistent with the brand.

03
03 Project Outcome

Service as Part of the Brand

The completed workshop gives Brompton a dedicated service environment that feels integrated into the wider customer journey rather than separated from it. Customers can move from discovering and purchasing a bike in the flagship to maintaining it through the workshop, with both spaces carrying the same level of brand consideration.

The workshop also supports a broader community role. Beyond repairs, it provides a place for riders to speak with specialists, exchange knowledge and remain engaged with the brand over time, extending the relationship well beyond the point of sale.
