Two Dining Speeds
Noodle XO required a new Asian-fusion venue within Canberra Airport’s growing F&B precinct. The brief called for an interior that captures the energy of Asian street dining while fitting a modern airport setting. Two experiences had to work side by side: quick-service dining with a sushi bar and display counter, plus casual sit-down dining with hawker-style cues and open views into the cookline.
Connected Zones With Modern Finish
Two zones were unified through a shared visual language and clear service flow. Mesh ceiling panels in warm orange and yellow tones were used to pull the takeaway and dine-in areas together. Bamboo panelling in a chevron pattern and curved perforated mesh cladding were used to modernise classic materials. Feature lighting and cultural accents were layered in to add atmosphere, while circulation was kept efficient for airport trading conditions.
Distinct, Airport-ready Venue
The finished venue delivers a lively Asian-inspired dining environment that performs in a high-traffic airport setting. A cohesive material and lighting approach helps two dining formats feel connected, while the layout supports quick decisions and comfortable dwell. The interior balances cultural character with contemporary detailing, aligning with airport operational needs and creating a destination-style restaurant experience.
